この記事では慶應三田キャンパスのイスラム教徒向け礼拝室についてご紹介します。正式にはSILENCE ROOMという名前ですが、基本的にムスリムが想定して作られているようです。

場所は東門に隣接する建物の2階なのですが、以前は西門に位置していたため旧情報がネットに出回っていることや、利用に際しての手続きがやや複雑なので最新版をまとめておきます。

In this article, I will guide you through the process of using the Muslim prayer room at Keio University’s Mita campus. In short, the prayer room is located on the second floor of the building adjacent to the East Gate entrance. Though it is officially called the SILENCE ROOM, it is primarily used by Muslims for prayer. The room was previously located near the West Gate, and some older information may still be available online.

STEP 1: Obtain a SILENCE ROOM PASS

まず、正門を入って見える階段の右脇にある学生部の国際担当窓口にて SILENCE ROOM PASSというものを発行します。基本情報の記入を持って申請とし、数分で発行されるものです。一度発行されたカードはその後も使うことができます。

First, head to the international desk at the Office of Student Service（学生部＝がくせいぶ）. You can find it just after passing through the main gate, on the right side of the stairs in front of you. There, you’ll need to request a SILENCE ROOM PASS. Simply show your student ID and fill out a form. Once you’ve received your pass, it will be valid for future visits as well, so you won’t need to request a new one each time.

STEP 2: Pick up Your Card Key at the Security Room

SILENCE ROOM PASSを持って東門の警備室に行き、サイレンスルーム利用の旨を伝えます。PASSの確認と入室時間の記入を終えたら部屋に入るのに必要なカードキーが手渡されます。

With your SILENCE ROOM PASS in hand, go to the security room at the East Gate. Present your pass and inform the staff that you wish to use the prayer room. After providing the pass number and the time of your visit, you’ll be issued a card key to access the room.

STEP 3: Access the Prayer Room

東門の警備室とは反対側の建物に入り、エレベーターで2階へ上がると部屋があります。キーでロックを解除して入室します。ウドゥができる簡易的な設備がありますが、タオルはないので持参しましょう。礼拝マットは用意されていました。

Once you have your card key, go to the entrance of the building located on the opposite side of the security room. Take the elevator up to the second floor. Use the card key to unlock the SILENCE ROOM. The room is equipped for Wudu, though please note that towels are not provided. Prayer mats are available.

STEP 4: Return the Card Key

礼拝を終えたら確実に扉を閉め、警備室に戻ってカードキーを返却します。

After completing your prayer, be sure to securely close the door and return to the security room to return your card key. Record the return time and kindly greet the security staff before leaving.
